The NYPS Acadamy Pyramid Structure
The NYPS Academy Pyramid (see breakdown on each tier below) has been designed to complement our Player Development Program that in recent years has produced two players to move forward to the national team pool for their respective age group. In listening to the needs of youth organizations we know that NYPS can provide the SUPPORT, STRUCTURE, CONSISTENCY and CONFIDENCE to take your program to the next level.
Our process involves a needs analysis with your organization to come up with the best course of action to reach your goals. We then suggest organizational solutions and finally implement them though either seasonal clinic programs, NYPS trainers, PDO’s or even your own full time DOC.
At NYPS we have a full time Technical Department which means we are able to constantly keep up to date with the latest developments in soccer and are always adapting our ’living and breathing’ curriculum to align with the biggest and best in Europe and America.
Our player development clinics include;
Team Clinics – Have an NYPS Staff Coach work with your team for one clinic, a series of clinics or for the whole season.
Group Clinics – Bring the NYPS Academy staff along to work with an entire age group at one time as a one-off or for a series of weeks.
SAQ Clinics – Speed, Agility and Quickness clinics to improve your athletes’ performance
Goalkeeper/Specialty Clinics – An often missed element of youth development e.g. our professional GK coaches can help make your keepers the best they can be!
Coach Development Clinics - NYPS has its own age-specific Coach Development Clinics. These interactive Coach Clinic provide training for all levels of coaching. NYPS has created detailed curriculums for each youth soccer age group to educate coaches in age-appropriate techniques, skills and games. Each curriculum provides age-specific technical, tactical, physical and psychological goals. These are available for U6, U8, U10, U12 and U14 age groups.
Additionally, NYPS can offer Combined Coach & Player Development Clinics. In these sessions, NYPS will work directly with a group of youth soccer players and their coaches, explaining the content of the session as it happens. The Coaches Clinic will be staffed by one of the senior NYPS full time Academy staff and can take place at your convenience.
Match Analysis – We will watch your teams play, provide you with a written analysis of the game and then run a clinic the following week based on your teams needs. Match Analysis clinics cost an additional $15.00 per hour.
Program Evaluation – Let us take the aggravation out of selecting your teams. We have a thorough evaluation program based on technical exercises and small-sided games.
Tryouts - We are available to run your tryouts. The tryout procedure is to identify players and rank them accordingly so players end up in the team where they are challenged. New York Premier Soccer focuses on the four pillars of the game. Technical, Tactical, Physical and Psychological. The tryout is broken down into:
1) Individual unopposed technique (warm up)
2) Technical ability 1 v 1, 2 v 2
3) Small sided games 3v3 - 4v4
4) Large sided 6v6 - 8v8
NYPS uses our qualified, professional coaches who have been through the staff training in order to fully understand what to look for in a young player.

Purchase a Full Time Staff Coach (PDO) for your town/group - Our PDO program has been developed after feedback from several youth organizations we work with who are looking for a more full time presence from NYPS throughout the whole season. Typically the Program Development Officer is an NYPS staff coach with over 3 years of experience within a youth soccer organization and is assigned exclusively to your program for an unlimited number of hours during the week. In a typical week a PDO can work with over 500 kids!! The PDO can run/ assist with all of the above clinics, work extensively with your coaches and much, much more. The PDO is available at one all inclusive rate. Any assistance from the Academy staff that the PDO may need would be all incorporated into the one price. Pro-rata options are also available (minimum of 4 weeks).
Clinic Costs
NYPS provides the highest level of coaching and service to the groups with whom we work. The cost for using an Academy coach in 2012 will be as follows:
- $75.00 per Academy Coach per hour
For youth soccer organizations that sign up for one week of camp (vacation or summer) the cost is greatly reduced to just $50.00 per Academy Coach, per hour. Other discounts may apply when you sign up for multiple clinic programs including; free coaches’ clinics with our highest professionally trained and experienced coaches, curriculum support throughout your program, free Goalkeeper/Striker clinics and much much more
We can tailor our player development program to suit the specific needs of your organization!
Through association with Adidas, your town can receive a free introductory coach’s Clinic. This is a great opportunity to see the NYPS philosophy and the quality of our staff and curriculum first hand. The session will run for 1.5hr with one of the NYPS Coaches.
