Waltham, 22^nd June 2010; New York Premier Soccer (NYPS) and Rochester Futbol Club are delighted to announce a partnership designed to develop a School of Excellence Program for players aged 7-12 commencing fall 2010.

Developed by sister organization Mass Premier Soccer (MPS, masspremiersoccer.com), the School of Excellence Program in Massachusetts currently has over 1,000 players and has produced two US National Team Players in each of the last two years.  The SOE program is unique in terms of full-time licensed professional coaches working with dedicated and talented individuals who are looking for advanced training with similarly talented peers. 

“We are delighted to associate the NYPS brand with Rochester Futbol Club,” said NYPS General Manager Joe Bradley.  “It was evident early on that we shared the same vision for player development and values as to how we educate our players.”

The NYPS-RFC partnership will include offering coach education and curriculum support to Travel clubs in Greater Rochester.  NYPS has the ability to draw on a 5 person strong Technical Department whose job is to produce curriculum for the various NYPS programs and player and parent education support for all NYPS families.  With multiple clubs working together, there will be an opportunity to establish a clear player development pathway for all players in Rochester.

 “We had encountered MPS/NYPS teams on our tournament travels and had always been impressed not only with how their teams played but by the entire professionalism of the organization,” said Rochester FC President George Siviy. “The NYPS School of Excellence Program will complement the existing infrastructure at the club and provide a source of quality players for our Premier teams moving forward.”  

The relationship between NYPS and RFC is expected to develop in years to come with collaboration on the Premier Program, Showcase Tournaments and inner city programs. “Through the professional-level coaching staff, curriculum and full time support staff, Rochester FC’s partnership with NYPS will be especially beneficial for young soccer players in the Rochester area who are seeking to increase their skills and play at the premier level or higher.” states RFC’s Director of Coaching and founder Nelson Cupello. "This supports RFC’s mission of future growth through the quality of the club, its’ coaches, and most importantly the players it produces."

MPS/NYPS has successfully developed league products, showcase tournaments, college placement programs and has won 13 national titles, nine at the youth level and two PDL and two W-League titles.  MPS also successfully expanded to Maine in 2009 (mainepremiersoccer.com) and Florida in 2010 (floridapremsoccer.com). 

Since 1996, Rochester Futbol Club has produced numerous League and Tournament Champions, 10 State Cup Championship teams including five recently won state titles in 2009 and 2010, and has graduated a large percentage of its’ players into quality DI, DII and DIII Collegiate teams.
