All teams will use size 4 soccer balls

Each Juniors team will have their own game uniform which must be worn at all games, home and away

Throw-ins, free kicks, corner kicks and goal kicks will be taken as per FIFA rules

Substitutions may occur at any stoppage during the game, regardless of which team has possession of the ball. There are no limits on how many substitutions may occur per game. Substitutions will enter the field from the midfield, once acknowledged by the game referee

A one referee system will be utilized for all games. Referees will be appointed by a referee coordinator through NYPS

 

Zero Tolerance

NYPS will enforce a zero tolerance policy with regards to referees. All players and parents will treat referees with respect and will not question their decisions during or after the game

 

Codes of Conduct

Players

  • Attend all training sessions and games punctually. Be honest in all dealings with coaching staff
  • Pay complete attention to Academy Coaching Staff
  • Maximum effort is a minimum requirement - always take pride in your performance, including at practice
  • Your full cooperation is always expected. Behave like a professional
  • Learn the rules of the game
  • Always help out with equipment during practice. You should not need to be asked
  • Always warm up and warn down before and after practice and matches
  • Always wear appropriate practice gear
  • No baseball caps or jewelry to be worn or mobile phones to be used
  • Always conduct yourself with respect
  • Always respect other people and property - you are an ambassador for the club at all times
  • Be appreciative of your parents support
  • Always apply to the correct dress code when travelling
  • Always work hard and be determined to do the best you can at all times

 

Match Conduct

  • Accept any decision by the referee
  • Never retaliate, no matter what the provocation may be
  • Always show good sportsmanship
  • Be proud of your appearance. Make sure your cleats are cleaned and polished before each training session and game
  • Always shake hands firmly after the game and thank your opponent and referee

 

Code of Conduct for Parents

  • Ensure that players attend training regularly and on time
  • Give adequate notice for all absences from training and games. Be honest in dealings with coaching staff
  • Be responsible for transport to training and matches (unless other arrangements have been made through the club)
  • Attend all pre-arranged parents meetings
  • Player development is the most important thing, keep the winning of games in perspective
  • Refrain from coaching from the sidelines. Do not shout at any players. Leave the coaching to the coaches
  • Encourage and support players. Do not place an unwanted amount of pressure on the players
  • Keep the coach fully informed of any injuries or matters that may affect your son/daughter’s performance
  • Advocate a healthy lifestyle that is appropriate to development
